SUNY ESF Women's Cross Country Claims the National Championship
UNIONTOWN, Pa. – The SUNY ESF women’s cross country team completed a four-peat on Sunday morning winning the 2024 USCAA Women’s Cross Country National Championship held on the campus of Penn State Fayette.
The Mighty Oaks scored 20 points to win their fourth straight team title as new member Colorado Mountain College- Leadville came in second with 71 points. Penn State Shenango was third with 91 points, followed by Lyon (108) and Carlow (109) to round out the top five.
Kaylie Dameron of Wright State Lake Campus won the individual title covering the 6k course in 23:03.1. Margaret Ryan (23:54.6) and Bryce Hopper (24:04.3) from SUNY ESF took second and third respectively. Faith Sullivan of Penn State Shenango was fourth (24:34.1) and Katie Richardson of SUNY ESF (24:39.9) finished the top five.
Angelina Pusateri of Word of Life (24:48.8) and Maura O’Brien of SUNY ESF finished the top seven in 24:50.9. The top seven earned first team USCAA All-American honors.
Earning second team USCAA All-American honors were: Tee Atwater of SUNY ESF (24:59.6/8th), Aedy Barclay of Colorado Mountain College-Leadville (25:15.4/9th), Mary Roach of SUNY-ESF (25:43.1/10th) Sarah Christy of Penn State Shenango (25:43.4/11th), Mary Noble of Christendom (26:15.6/12th), Liliana Murphy of Colorado Mountain College-Leadville (26:23.1/13th) and Heather Cecco of SUNY-ESF (26:28.9/14th).
