Golf Championship: Day 1 Recap
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Oct. 13, 2025) … After day one of the 2025 USCAA Golf National Championships, a pair of Yankee Small College Conference teams occupy the top two spots.
University of Maine-Augusta combined for a 20-over-par 308, while Southern Maine Community College sits four strokes behind after a 24-over-par 312 on Monday over a wet 6,329-yard, par-72 Penn State Blue Course.
Rounding out the top five include Kent State Tuscarawas (313) along with The Apprentice School and Penn State DuBois (315).
Individually, Dillon Yinger of Penn State York was the lone competitor to finish at even par with a 72. Will Farschon of Southern Maine CC is second (73), followed by Connor Mullaney of Penn State Scranton, Aiden Boule of NHTI and Arjun Dhanon of Maine-Augusta at two-over-par 74 each.
In the women’s USCAA National Invitational, Maci Lorigan of Carlow leads after a four-over-par 76 with Grace Thompson of Southern Maine CC next at 77. Thompson’s SMCC teammates Alexis McCormick (80) and Charlotte Blanchard (84) follow suit with Leah Wright of Kent State Tuscarawas in fifth with an 89.
Following the first round, the USCAA Skills Championships were held with long drive, chipping and putting contests held.
Women’s Long Drive: Shai Moore (Penn State New Kensington)

Women’s Putting: Maci Lorigan (Carlow)
Men’s Long Drive: Bronson Ammann (NHTI)
Men’s Chipping: Austen Gunn (Kent State Tuscarawas)
Men’s Putting: Cody Fagley (Penn State DuBois)
